PUMA Suede x Nahmias Light Pink-Crochet Pink Formstrip-Multicolor Rope Laces-Gum Sole

The PUMA Suede x Nahmias is a collaboration between PUMA and the Los Angeles-based luxury leisure brand Nahmias, founded by Doni Nahmias. Nahmias is known for its California-inflected take on 1970s–80s Americana — sun-bleached palettes, handcraft references, and a relaxed, aspirational attitude that bridges streetwear and high-end leisurewear. The collaboration applies this sensibility directly to the iconic Suede silhouette, transforming a heritage athletic shoe into an object of considered craft and deliberate softness.

The Light Pink suede upper sets the colourway’s tone: a pale, powder-soft pink that reads as warm and gentle rather than bright or assertive. On the Suede’s napped surface, light pink takes on a slightly textured, almost chalky quality that aligns naturally with Nahmias’s sun-faded, handmade aesthetic. This is pink as a neutral — sophisticated and wearable rather than decorative.

The Crochet Pink Formstrip is the collaboration’s defining detail and the clearest expression of Nahmias’s handcraft ethos. Replacing the standard suede or leather Formstrip with a crochet-knitted version introduces visible stitch texture, irregular surface detail, and a deliberate sense of the handmade into a mass-produced silhouette. The crochet Formstrip in matching pink maintains tonal coherence with the upper while completely changing the material register of the shoe’s most prominent branding element.

The Multicolor Rope Laces add a further layer of craft and colour. Rope-style laces have a thicker, more tactile profile than standard flat laces, and in a multicolor version they introduce a playful, woven-textile energy that references macramé, friendship bracelets, and the DIY craft culture that runs through both California leisure culture and the 70s–80s Americana Nahmias draws from.

The Gum Sole provides an authentically vintage base — its warm, translucent amber rubber grounding the shoe in the material vocabulary of 1970s court and training footwear while harmonising with the soft, warm palette of the upper.
