The Vans Skate Authentic is the performance-focused evolution of the original Authentic silhouette, built specifically for skateboarding without departing from the model's stripped-back visual identity. First introduced under the Vans Skate line, it retains the flat vulcanised profile and low-top cut while upgrading the construction with DURACAP reinforcement in high-wear zones and a PopCush insole for impact absorption — changes driven by skate use rather than lifestyle marketing.

The Black/White colourway is the Skate Authentic at its most functional: a solid black canvas upper with a clean white foxing tape and white rubber waffle sole. No graphics, no tonal complexity — just a high-contrast two-tone colourway that works across different board setups and wears in evenly over time. The gum sole is replaced here with white rubber, keeping the overall look sharp and consistent.
